Profile Picture

Welcome!

I am Sokratis Xenos and this is my personal website!

I am a mechanical engineer with a Ph.D. in computational mechanics, jointly awarded in 2024 by the Laboratoire de Mécanique des Solides (LMS) at École Polytechnique (France) and the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Thessaly (Greece) under the supervision of Professor Kostas Danas and Professor Nikolaos Aravas.

I hold an integrated Master’s degree (MEng.) in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Thessaly, where I graduated with honors. Since 2019, I have also been a research associate at the Laboratory of Mechanics of Materials at the University of Thessaly, contributing to various national and international research projects.

In addition to my academic and research work, I have experience in tutoring undergraduate courses in mechanics of materials and have supervised several thesis projects. I am proficient in scientific programming, finite element modeling, and computational analysis using commercial and open-source tools.

My academic journey is driven by a strong interest in applying theoretical mechanics to practical engineering problems, combining rigorous modeling with computational implementation.

Research interests and projects described in more detail in Research page.

My journal/conference/thesis publications, are available at Publications.
